Known for its quiet streets shaded with beautiful banyan, ficus and palm trees, the residents of The Moorings enjoy a private country club, beach park, ease of access to the Gulf of Mexico, private docks and luxury waterfront lifestyles.
Once considered a sandy wasteland, far from the center of Naples, The Moorings has grown from the original 300 acres to over 1,300 acres of outstanding tropical paradise. Architect turned Florida developer, Milton Link initially purchased the land in 1957 for $1.5 million. Though extensively renovated, many of the original homes constructed in the 1950s and 60s remain preserved within the community.
From its coveted waterfront location within Naples city limits, The Moorings is one of Naples earliest waterfront luxury communities. Just north of Old Naples, near shopping, dining and open waterways, here you’ll find some of Naples’ most luxurious single family homes and condominiums.
A true beachfront paradise, many homes are either located directly on the water or within walking distance to the pristine private beach. The Moorings offers condo luxury on the beach, or the Bay, along with opulent single-family homes on both immaculate golf course locations, as well as prime waterfront lots. This community prides itself on its gently curving and quiet tree lined streets, meticulously maintained grounds and dramatic nightly sunset vistas. Boating enthusiasts enjoy the ease of open water Gulf access, via Doctor’s Pass, from their private docks along Moorings Bay, Bowline Bay and Compass Cove. The jewel of the community is the Moorings Beach Park where Moorings’ residents enjoy a beautiful private beach, picnic cabana, and relaxing with their neighbors in paradise.
The Moorings Country Club, recently renovated, offers residents a private 18-hole, par 63 golf course with lush, manicured grounds and year-round play in the tropical Naples climate. Members can enjoy a cocktail, lunch, dinner or the exceptional Sunday Brunch at the Clubhouse.
As a resident of The Moorings for many years, I particularly enjoy the convenience of its central location. Everything is at the tip of my fingers. Wonderful shops and restaurants in Old Naples, the Coastland Center Mall, grocery stores, and dozens of exclusive shops and restaurants in Venetian Village and Waterside Shops. For Antonija and Rick Bhasin who moved to The Moorings a couple of years ago from North Florida, “The Moorings has it all!” Perfect location, natural beauty and charm, beautiful beach and friendly people – what else do you need?
Since moving from Canada in 2000 and settling in Naples, I fell in love with The Moorings! I feel very fortunate to live and work in this wonderful, close knit and friendly community. Every morning when I walk my dogs, my neighbors wave and greet us with smiles. Every evening, our private Moorings beach park becomes a neighborhood meet-and-greet place to catch up, relax and enjoy wonderful sunsets. Simply put, living here, every day feels like a paradise.
As with much of Southwest Florida, there is a definite upswing in The Moorings housing market. The median sales price of $542,000 reflected for December 2011 to February 2012 is up by 19.1% from the prior quarter, and up by 42.3% over the prior year. The average listing price for homes on Trulia in The Moorings is $834,119, as of the week ending Mar 14, 2012, while the average price per square foot is shown at $430 in the most recent quarter.
